This rare mahogany Chippendale Torchere has a lobed top inset with a finely selected yew wood veneer and surrounded by a carved gadrooned border. A turned and tapered baluster supports the top, its shaped and fluted stem carved with acanthus leaves. The three double C-scroll legs are carved with foliage and set with molding. The torchere is completely finished in the collection's signature Faded Mahogany. English c. 1756.
