The softness and warmth of the upholstered shell modifies the executive weight of the About A Chair AAC 53, bringing a welcoming expression to the otherwise functional and technical genre of office chairs. Retaining the same curved shell and unified silhouette that characterises the entire collection, the design features a five-legged castor base with a gas lift that can adjust the seat height. The aluminium base is available in different finishes, with the post-consumer recycled plastic shell offered in multiple regular and quilted upholstery options. Hee Welling

Hee Welling

Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. The son of a cabinetmaker, Welling’s fascination with production techniques, materials, and machinery was fired as a child. He went onto study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Welling has received a number of design awards, including the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA), and has been nominated as Danish designer of the year in 2013 and 2014.
