Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick

William Eugene "Bill" Stumpf has been part of the design of the famous Aeron and Ergon chairs. In 1974, He was commissioned by Herman Miller to research to office seating. Two years later, the Ergon chair was introduced. "I work best when I'm pushed to the edge," he says. Don Chadwick worked for architect Victor Gruen before establishing his own practice in 1964. In 1974, He designed Chadwick Modular Seating and designed the Equa 1 flexing-plastic chair in collaboration with Bill Stumpf in 1984. Then in 1999, the landmark Aeron chair was awarded Design of the Decade.
