Gonzalo Milá & Miguel Milá
Gonzalo Milá was born in Barcelona in 1967. He began his studies in architecture and in 1988 he started to work for Miguel Milá. Together with Miguel and Micaela Milá, he later formed the Milเ design studio. Main projects of this group were the interior design of the Casa Milá level for touristic visits and the Rama lamp post, which won the ADI-FAD Silver Delta Prize. Since 2001, he works in his own studio developing projects of urban furniture, interior and exterior lighting, accessories and projects that favor the integration of wildlife in the city. Miguel Milá (1931 - 2024), He is considered one of the Spain’s first and most influential industrial designers. Starting out as an interior designer amid the country’s early modernist movement, Milá began making the objects he needed but couldn’t yet find on the market. In 1987, Miguel was awarded the National Design Award, and in 2008 he received the Compasso D Oro from the Italian ADI in recognition of his professional career and his contribution to the diffusion of Spanish design abroad. He is a six-time winner of the ADI-FAD award. He was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal of the City of Barcelona in recognition of his career and his unparalleled contribution to the world of design.Learn more about
