The Teak Edition of the Dining Chair APC02 reflects the reverence for natural materials, craftsmanship, and quiet refinement that defines the work of Ed Tuttle. Crafted in Thailand from solid plantation teak, each chair is composed of more than fifty individually shaped components, carefully assembled and hand-sanded to honor Tuttle’s original drawings. The surface is then finished using a traditional Thai technique in which the wood is polished with rice sacks; the natural hemp fibers burnish the teak while imparting a light oiling, resulting in a soft, lustrous finish that deepens beautifully with age and use.
