Atlason Studio
Born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1974, Hlynur Atlason graduated in industrial design from Parsons School of Design in New York in 2001. He opened his Manhattan office to create a broad spectrum of design. The work starts with questioning the status quo and learning voraciously: new media, materials, technology, processes and behaviours. His sophisticated aesthetic merges Scandinavian simplicity with New York innovation. International recognition for Atlason’s work includes the 2023 Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award. His designs have been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company, Wallpaper, and Metropolis, among other leading publications.
