Biny Table | Highlight image 1
The table lamp (Biny Table n°231) by Jacques BINY is almost an alien in the lunar world (sorry!) in the luminary world. Some appear like a robot, others as cartoon characters, and still others a radically effective minimalist object. Created in 1958, lights are still very modern. For good reading light, Biny designed it with fins that direct the intense light onto the entirety of the useful area. For soft and surprisingly effective lighting, this developed reissue * uses integrated, removable LED technology in 2700 K with adjustable fins thanks to a wheel.

* developed reissue: The reissue is not a look to the past. To allow a technical object to last through time, the publisher must adapt the object to new technologies. The reissue is an extension of the work by the original publisher.

Jacques Biny

Jacques Biny

Jacques Biny (born 1913), was a French lighting designer, interior designer, producer, and the founder of the lighting company Luminalite. He was an exceptionally productive designer who developed over 400 models during his career. The essential elements in his designs were functionality, minimalism and clean-lined elegance. Biny suddenly died in 1976, while his Luminalite business was booming. He is a kind of light conductor. His products are still popular among collectors. His work was exhibited at the Design Miami/ Basel at Galerie Pascal Cuisinier in Basel and in Paris in 2015.
