This coat stand is a functional sculpture in a house. The construction elements are made of one type of timber in different lengths. As they are jointed together in different places with various angles and directions, the object changes its character according to the side where it is looked at. The design has the face side which hangs more clothes and the back side with less hanging space which is designed to be facing the wall.

Shin Azumi

Shin Azumi was born in Kobe, Japan in 1965. After finishing his MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art in 1994, he started working as a designer at ‘AZUMI’. In 2005, he established his own office ‘a studio’ in London. His works were acquired as permanent collection by numeruos museums in UK, Holland, Germany, etc. He is a lecturer at many universities and was also took part in the jury of numerous design awards such as, IF Design Award (DE), DT Design Award (JPN), Design Report Award (DE / IT), FX International Design Award (UK), Kokuyo Design Award (JPN), etc.
