Named after the Japanese word ori, meaning fold, the Ori Chair by Patrick Norguet is characterised by a subtle opening between the padded seat and back – a folded detail that introduces both lightness and identity while forming the basis of a versatile chair series that unfolds across multiple typologies.
At the core of the Ori Chair is a shaped wooden shell that establishes the continuous form of the seat and back. From here, layers of cushioning and upholstery build up the softer expression of the finished chair. The upholstery is shaped through a series of precise details. An envelope seam defines the outer edges, while a stitched and pulled-in line across the front of the backrest gives shape to the surface. On the reverse, a fine piping detail provides a subtle finish.
Available with both low and high backrests, and with or without armrests, Ori offers a versatile seating solution suited to a wide range of settings. A selection of metal, wooden and swivel bases allows the chair to adapt naturally across meeting and conference environments, dining areas and collaborative spaces.
