The ox figurine is depicted in abundant detail significant of a true technical virtuosity. White and flannel coloured enamel batons are sculpted by blowtorch into a dozen different elements, then joined over a flame to form the animal. The astonishing precision found in the eyes, nostrils, backbone, and nuances of the coat make it come alive in its crystal bubble. Its harness and lead are made by twisting together three extremely fine green enamel rods over a flame, then shaping them in a single movement. The elements that protrude from the ox–like the horns, muzzle and legs–are protected by a small clear crystal bubble (partial wedging), before being packaged in clear crystal.
