Light concept:
The 3½-2½ Floor Lamp Centenary Edition is based on Poul Henningsen’s System PH and features a three-shade set with White Opal lower shades and an Amber upper shade, all glossy on the outside and sandblasted matte white on the inner side to ensure a soft diffused and glare-free light and a high level of light comfort. The amber-coloured upper shade provides pleasant ambient upward glow.
Materials:
Top shade: Mouth-blown four-layered amber-coloured glass with white sandblasted inner side.
Lower shades: Mouth-blown three-layered white opal glass with white sandblasted inner side.
Top plate, body, and base: Aged brass, lacquered.
The surface is lacquered to preserve finish.
Finish:
Mouth-blown amber coloured and opal white glass with a white sandblasted innerside.
Aged brass, lacquered.
The surface is lacquered to preserve finish.
Mounting:
2.5 m. Dark brown textile cord.

Poul Henningsen
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen by the famous Danish writer. He never graduated as an architect, but studied at The Technical School at Frederiksberg, and then at Technical College in Copenhagen. He started practicing traditional functionalistic architecture, but over the years his interests focus mainly on lighting. He is the legendary creator of the lighting series carrying his name; PH. He can be said to be the world’s first lighting architect. PH devoted his entire career to investigating the importance of light for our well being.
