The PH 80 was originally a table and floor lamp designed in tribute to Poul Henningsen, one of Denmark's most renowned designers, especially celebrated for his work with lighting. The PH 80 was created in 1974, after Henningsen's death, as a homage to him on what would have been his 80th birthday. The lamp is part of Henningsen's famous "PH series" and follows his principles of creating glare-free lighting through a multi-shade design. The PH 80 consists of a three-layer shade made from opal acrylic and red acrylic, which produces a warm and pleasant light. The red top of the lamp adds a warm glow, enhancing the ambiance around the lamp. The lamp is both functional and aesthetic, providing comfortable, indirect lighting that is warm and diffuse, making it suitable for both private homes and professional environments. The Table Lamp that was quite large with a shade diameter of 500mm (as is the floor lamp) was discontinued while the floor lamp has been in the collection for 50 years. In addition to the classic version with the red top, a black and an all-white version was launched a few years back. The new PH 80 Table lamp and the PH 80 Portable lamp are downscaled versions of the original table lamp.

Originally released as a table lamp and floor lamp in 1974 to mark what would have been Poul Henningsen’s 80th birthday, the PH 80’s black and red top stood out, as a tribute that underscored its creators’ lasting impact and legacy of being one of Denmark’s most renowned designers. Part of Henningsen’s celebrated PH series, the PH 80 follows his enduring principles of glare-free lighting through a multi-shade system. The set of three shades crafted from white opal acrylic delivers a warm and inviting glow when lit. The red top further enhances the atmosphere by casting a soft, ambient light around the lamp. In addition to the classic version with the red top, a black and an allwhite version PH 80 Floor Lamp was launched a few years back. The Lamps is both functional and aesthetic, providing comfortable, indirect lighting that is warm and diffused.

The original 1974-design of the PH 80 Table Lamp, later discontinued, featured the same generous 500mm. shade diameter as its floor lamp counterpart. The new PH 80 Table Lamp ( PH 3/2) and PH 80 Portable Lamp (PH2/1) have been elegantly downscaled from the original size to suit today’s living spaces, offering two different technical solutions – a Portable Lamp with build-in LED and a Table Lamp with a standard socket. Whether lighting an intimate outdoor gathering or a bedside table, this refined tribute to Poul Henningsen’s legacy brings iconic design to any setting
