Marta Perla has designed Siro, a semi-spherical table lamp with a disc at the front releasing in its interior an oblique light thanks to the slim LED light source. Seen from the front, Siro appears to consist of two two dimensional elements, giving the illusion of being perfectly balanced on a surface.

It takes its name from the necessity, so typical of man, to search in celestial movements, possible links between one’s own past and cosmic phenomena. Hence Siro, deriving from Sirius, the brightest white star in the night sky.

Siro comes in two sizes and two finishes: satin bronze or satin gold, with the interior of the sphere in white, heightening the contrast in colour in a simple, graphic way.

Table lamp giving indirect led light in metal. Matt black base, lens shaped reflector in painted satin bronze or satin gold glaze aluminium, painted in white inside.

Source bulb: 1 x max 10W (LED) - dimmer - 2700°K - 1330 lm - CRI >90

Marta Perla

Marta Perla was born in 1995 in Terni. After graduating from foreing language high school, Perla relocates to Rome to study Product Design at IED, the European Institute of Design. The years at IED culminate in a final dissertation, written in collaboration with Oluce. Perla gives a great attention to the graphic aspect of a product and the concept behind it, being the concept the primal reason of its own existence. Her work is chiefly influenced by Sato Oki’s Nendo, The Memphis Group and Wolfgang Weingart’s Swiss Punk. Perla currently is a junior designer at angelettiruzza design studio.
