Eero Saarinen
Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) was a Finnish-American architect and industrial designer who was one of the leaders in a trend toward exploration and experiment in American architectural design during the 1950s. Saarinen first received critical recognition for a chair designed together with Charles Eames for the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition in 1940. He was also a leader of the second-generation modernists. Among his outstanding projects are the Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC, the TWA Terminal at Kennedy International Airport, and the CBS headquarters in New York.
